Happy Birthday G.G. Lola!!

SURPRISE!!!

- We surprised Grandma with a house full of guests for her 88th birthday. Most people were from out of town. It was such a great surprise- (except for the little fact that Jason spilled the beans earlier in the week by telling Grandma on the phone that we'd see her Saturday at her party!) Still, Grandma was surprised by who was there. Jason's sister Amy came from Texas, his cousins and families came from Arizona and northern California.

After greeting Grandma at the Mom & Dad's house, we loaded up all the kids and food and headed for the park. It was a beautiful day to be outside. The kids had a blast playing with cousins and other relatives!

Nana had an egg hunt planned. Darren was excited to be asked to hide the eggs. Yep, he's that old now. Sigh... Anyway, the kids all enjoyed this activity. Grandma Lola enjoyed watching and sharing in their joy also!

Another fun activity for the little ones (and big ones apparantly) was the parachute!

Some other fun photos of loved ones:

Today was Emily's actual birthday - the big 28, I think. Is that right Em? Thanks for sharing your day with Grandma!

Of course there was birthday cake and gifts for Grandma. Here are some glasses she was sent from her son Gene:

After the park we went back to Jason's parent's house and visited there for a few more hours. Eventually we all got hungry again and went out to dinner. It was such a beautiful day. It was so nice to spend the day with Grandma and so much family. Happy Birthday Lola! We love you!!

Um....28? Are you trying to make me sound older? 27 is the correct age, however, not to proud of that either. I am getting so old...ugh!!!

Yes, the day did turn out SPECIAL for my Mom and Grandma. The day was BEAUTIFUL, the weather could not have been nicer! Papa and I were thrilled to see all the family that could come, we missed those who could not make it. Pray that my brother will soon be feeling better! So glad that so many photos were taken, we will treasure that day forever! Grandma especially!! Most importantly, is how important FAMILY is, and I feel blessed to be part of such a WONDERFUL FAMILY!!! We love you. Papa and Nana H.xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
