Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy celebrated his 37th birthday today! No bells and whistles, just us and the kids. It was a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Daddy got a long nap, took Holly and Alli for a walk, and we made him dinner and cake. I'll be taking him out next week for another celebration but shhhh... that's still a surprise! Thanks for being the best Daddy! We love you! Happy Birthday!!

Angels of Anaheim

Saturday the kids got to attend a "Mike Scioscia Baseball Clinic" in Thousand Oaks. They got to meet and get autographs from some of the 2008 Angels team. They met Mike Scioscia, Darren O'Day, Jered Weaver, Mike Napoli and two of the base coaches. It was so exciting for the boys! They had a trivia game and gave away prizes to those who knew the answers. Darren was called out of the crowd because Mike Scioscia thought it was funny he was on a cell phone (Daddy was on the other line trying to give Darren the trivia answers). He said Darren could "phone a friend" for help. He won an Angels wall clock. (we were hoping for the autographed bat or jacket, but oh well) They gave an Angels hat to all the kids there, and they got to have them autographed. They also interviewed the players who gave the Little League kids playing tips. What a fun experience for my boys! They can't wait to go to an Angels game next month for the twins' birthday!

...at the car wash...

Alli had a good time helping Daddy wash the car! Actually, she washed more of herself than the car! She kept dipping into the suds and rubbing her hands up & down her arms. She loved all the soapy bubbles! (Yuck) It was really funny and definitely picture worthy. Be assured, she was given a bath immediately after the car was finished.

Ski Mammoth!

We were lucky enough to spend 4 days in Mammoth during Spring Break thanks to our friends! We had such a blast! Darren excelled in his skiing. Blake & Ryan gave it a try too, and after just a couple hours of instruction from Mom & mostly Dad, they got it! Daddy had them going up the regular lifts and coming down the mountain without even a fall! We were so amazed and impressed. All the boys loved it and we are so grateful to our dear friends for an amazing time!

Spring Break Beach Trip

We had the most beautiful weather to kick off Spring Break! Wow! It was really a fun day at the beach, and even more fun with friends!

Happy Easter

Here are belated Easter pictures. I wasn't real excited about blogging them since I didn't get any good pictures. Then I remembered that I'm hoping to print out a blog book, and realized I should still have the event documented, crummy pictures and all. I didn't even get the camera out when we colored eggs. Next year I'll hopefully plan ahead and do better! Hope everyone had a good day. Our pictures may be bad, but our day was very nice.

Happy 13th!

Jason planned a surprise overnighter in Solvang for our Anniversary! What a sweetheart! I love how he does those fun things for us! He made reservations where we had the most delicious dinner, then a couples massage at our B&B. It was a quaint little place called the "Story Book Inn." Unfortunately, the rest of our plans were thwarted! During the massage a blood blister on Jason's calf (he didn't know that's what it was at the time) got popped internally, which caused him excruciating pain all the way into the next couple days. He couldn't even walk so we missed the entire Solvang "atmosphere" and walking around the shops. We drove home early and Jason spent 5 hours at the Emergency Room to find out he just has to let it take time to heal. The muscles are being irritated by the blood. Yuck! It was still nice to "get away" and I'm thankful to my honey for the thought and planning for our special day! We'll just have to go do it again soon!

Cousins!

We started our Spring Break a day early when the cousins were here from Iowa. We took them to Gorman for bike riding fun! Our boys LOVE when Daddy takes them out riding, and it was even more fun to have their cousins and Aunt Patty & Uncle Aron there too. Allison had her first trip to Gorman also, and she had fun getting very dirty. The poor thing crawled on the trailer planks and ended up with about 40 splinters in her hands. Not a great souvenir, but a good day anyhow.

Super Stars!

Ryan and Blake were each being spotlighted as "Super Star" of the week (on the same week)in their classes. They look forward to this all year long. They get to make a poster about themselves, bring in special items to share, and have a parent share a career if applicable. They loved having their Daddy bring the fire truck to school and give a presentation in their combined classes! What a treat!
