Thornhill Broom

President's Weekend we decided to have an overnight campout at a nearby beach. What fun! We took Holly for her first campout. She was soooo good. There were millions of smooth rocks all over the beach and the kids made a fun fort (ditch in the sand with rock walls) with them. We had campfire and s'mores, or course. It was just a fun overnight getaway for the family. I love this tradition we have started with our kids, and I'm grateful Jason is so willing to put in so much hard work to make it happen for us!

Ohhhhh, I can't wait! I have fifth wheel envy.

Looks like a fun trip!

Oh my goodness! That looks like so much fun! So I'm curious, did your kids actually sleep? Especially little Alli? We really want to take Teya camping but we're wondering if she'll actually sleep anywhere outside of her bed. Looks like you guys had a blast though!

Yeah, Becca. She LOVES bedtime. We put her porta-crib on our bed, close the door, and she goes right down. When the rest of us are ready for bed, we relocate the crib to the middle of the trailer by the couch. The boys have bunks in the back. Would she sleep in a tent?? That's another story and I've never tried. If I had a porta-crib, she'd sleep probably anywhere.

What a fun tradition!! Alli's first campout? One of many to come, right? Those have got to be great family bonding times.

Kate -Alli's had a few campouts: Mexico in Spring 07, Yosemite last summer, and I think a couple more. She's a seasoned pro! It was just the dog's first time.

We used to go camping there all the time. That looks like so much fun. We'll have to come down and go with you sometime! You guys are so good to fill your kid's lives with so many great childhood memories.

This looks like so much fun! I love camping, but we hardly ever do it! I can't wait to some day have a trailer or fifth wheel so I have a little kitchen and bathroom while we are camping. Maybe we would be more apt to go if I could just always keep the gear in there and ready to go! If you need reinforcements on your next trip, I can oblige:)

MEMORIES: Thanks for sharing the camping trip, Papa and I recall so many of our own camping trips with our children, but we were in a Tent, the campfires and smores were the best of the campout! Lucky Holly to have such a loving family. xoxox Papa and Nana H.
