Camp Chawanakee - Part 1

Darren's scout camp this year was on Shaver Lake at Camp Chawanakee. It it a gorgeous location on the Lake, and as a bonus there is a Family Camp on the opposite side. So our family brought the motorhome and camped on one side all week, while Jason and the scouts were on the other side. Myself and three other Scout moms were there with our younger kids at Family Camp sites. There were no other campers in the camp grounds for the entire week! We had the whole place to ourselves for the kids to roam free! What a blast all the kids had together! They loved not being under the thumb of their older brothers all week too. So fun.

Here was our site:

We were right on the lake... beautiful!

Here's the night view. The kids loved all the jumping fish around dusk.

We had lots of fun on the lake: feeding the ducks, swimming, rafting, fishing, etc.

Blake:

The kids kept themselves very entertained playing games, riding bikes, fishing, climbing rocks and many other activities. I barely saw them except for meal times!

Daddy's girl: Jason would come visit us each day while the Scouts were in class. He even was able to sleep at camp with us most nights.

That lake is amazing. I love the pic of your girl running to the lake. Hmmmm . . . I'm starting to look forward to my boys entering the scouting years, if it means family camping trips!

It really was a nice week. Even with all the dirt. ;-)

What a genius idea! It would be hard to have your hubby gone all week with the scouts but if you got to tag along and enjoy the gorgeous campgrounds too holy cow! That would be awesome! I love that he got to visit you and sleep with you guys too! The pictures are gorgeous, what a fun trip!

At the tent camp sites were there fire pits? If so did they have a grill top?
