Eagle Court of Honor

What a special day this was! Darren earned his Eagle while he was still 13 years old! He has always loved scouting and was quick to accomplish many of the requirements necessary for this award. The final thing needed was the Eagle Project, as is for most scouts I think. Yay for Darren for getting it done and completing this task.

Here is the night of the Board of Review where he was approved for his Eagle!

The Court of Honor was an amazing evening. So many family and friends were there to support Darren, and his good friend Michael Hanshaw for their success. Thanks to all who helped! It was held at Jason's fire station and it couldn't have been better. Mayor Janice Parvin spoke & presented the boys with an award, Chris Thomas, SuperBowl XXXIV Champion shared some great life experience and advice to the boys, a Fire Chief spoke and presented the boys with an award. Overall it was a success. Darren was glowing and most proud was his Dad!

Christmas 2011

HANSEN FAMILY CHRISTMAS

Christmas Eve:
As always, Christmas Eve is spent at Grandpa Steve's (my dad). But this year we made a stop at my mom's for lunch and gift exchange first. It was a fun-filled day with lots of family, but we missed Daddy who was working.

These two cousins are a month apart. They love when they get to play together!

Thanks for a great afternoon, Grammy & Bob!

Christmas Morning- Jason worked Christmas Eve so when the kids woke up Christmas morning, Daddy wasn't home. They opened their stockings and we had our traditional Christmas morning breakfast, just as Daddy was walking in the door. We opened the gifts Santa brought then went to church to celebrate Christ's birth. It was a beautiful program and helped make our day special! After church, we came home and opened the rest of the gifts under the tree. It was a great family day!

The much awaited iTouch

A MAC for the kids from Mom & Dad. A last minute decision because their hand-me-down computer never works. They were always trying to get on my computer. I loved hearing their comments of surprise.

A visit to Nana & Papa's in St. George:

On the way home, we pulled over for a little shooting on the side of the road. Gotta love Utah!

Jason turns 40!!

For Jason's 40th Birthday, I threw him a surprise party at the roller rink. It was so much fun! I rented out the rink for just our group for a 2 hour period. We had friends and family near and far come to celebrate. When we walked in, Jason was blind-folded. Everyone was there ahead of us and yelled Surprise! They all had their skates on and were ready to roll! It was great!
Many friends told me they were nervous at first and weren't sure it would be fun... but that once they got those skates on and got out on the rink... they felt like a kid again and had a blast!!! After our skate time we met back at our house where we had dinner. Darren had worked hard while we were gone to set out all the food and decorate for another surprise for his Dad. All in all, it was a great night!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY!
p.s. - Jason rocked it out on the rink!! He's still got it!
